God’s peace is a gift to humankind. We can’t create peace. The world can’t give us peace. It is a gift that we must claim, a gift that we can keep only to the degree that we give it to others.
Paul said, “Let the peace of God rule in your hearts.” This Peace is God’s eternal gift to us. It can’t be legislated; nor purchased; nor won by force. It comes to each one as quietly as the dew settles upon the grass.
Our Bible tells us, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace.” God is Peace and His gift to us is a measure of Himself. We can claim as much or as little as we desire, but to claim God’s gift of peace, we must become that peace personified. We must let God’s peace rule in our heart.
Let’s praise God for this gift of peace and for the privilege of sharing this peace with our world.
Our spiritual thought for the day is: For the peace that God shares with me, I say thank you, dear God.
