Matthew 14:27 “Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.”

The opposite of God-Love is man-made fear. We have the power to change fear into faith. Our trust is in God and in His good; then there is no room for fear.

Humankind learned to fear through a variety of experiences and some frightening happenings. We ourselves permitted this negative emotion to take hold. Now we are assured that God is protecting us. We are enfolded in His love.

We are at ease in the world and with the people around us. We don’t feel threatened. We’re not separated from any person or from God. We trust our heavenly Father.

What could we fear? Hunger? There is always food for our using. Finances? God is our supply and He never forsakes us. Friendship? To have a friend is to be a friend. Disease? The roots of illness are within our own actions and emotions. A wise man once said that our greatest fear is of fear itself.

We let God’s all-enveloping Love surround us, and we know that love overcomes fear. We know God’s protection and He guides us. Our faith in Him is complete.

Our spiritual thought for the day is: Dear God, thank you for Your unending blessings and Your goodness to me.
