Weekly Thoughts To Uplift And Inspire

Psalms 69:30 “I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.”

“Gratitude is spice that adds flavor to the feast and brings joy to the feasting.”
LaVerne Bowles

There is something wonderful and very special that we all feel about the Thanksgiving holiday. It is rich with joy and happy memories. Hopefully, we join with loved ones and friends in experiencing the goodness of this special day and give God our praise and gratitude for it.

Thanksgiving is a time of reflection, for it reminds us that life gives us many wonderful blessings. It is a time to count these blessings and to give thanks for each one of them; a time to remember that God is the Source of good, the Source of Life and every blessing that Life gives. Aware of the greatness of this truth, King David wrote in the 100th Psalm, “Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”

Our spiritual thought for the day is: Father God, my heart is filled with gratitude today for life’s blessings, for my family and friends and the joy of the Thanksgiving holiday.
