Romans 13:12 “Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.”
The dictionary defines the word cast: “to throw; to hurl, often violently.” If we throw something violently, we don’t ponder about it. The action is fast, decisive. So should it be in casting off old thinking and beliefs. We needn’t ponder the false thought or berate ourselves for a wrong belief we might have held in the past. Cast them off! We forgive ourselves! Then we turn to our Divine Source, the Source of our health, our goodness.
Our realization of wholeness comes by disciplining our thinking until we see the completeness of God. God’s completeness includes all His qualities and all His creation. God’s completeness is our health.
As soon as the thought of fear presents itself, we must begin to work. “Fear not, for I am with you always.” Do not postpone. “Now is the appointed time.” That doesn’t mean next week or even the next hour, but now. Don’t let the thought of fear stay. “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7) Fear is a feeling of inadequacy to cope with a situation whether it be illness, lack or an unloving state in our home or business. But we need not let this concern us, for God is the one who does the work; we merely LET God work through us.
Our spiritual thought for the day is: “God is … and God works. God is working right here, right now. As the Spirit of Life, God is renewing, strengthening and healing me right now.
Thank you, dear God.
