John 8:16; 10:30 “I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me … I and my Father are one.”
The most important relationship in life is our oneness with our Father-God.
Union
with God is basic to Christian religious belief. Working for full, continuous realization of this truth is a life-long task.
The monk, Brother Lawrence, was so right, back in the seventeenth century. “His prayer was nothing else but a sense of the presence of God, his soul being at the time insensible to everything but divine love; and … when the appointed times of prayer were past … he still continued with God, praising and blessing Him with all his might.” In one of his letters Brother Lawrence wrote: “Thus I continued some years, applying my mind carefully … to the presence of God, whom I considered always as with me, often as in me.” (The Practice of the Presence of God)
Maintaining the right relationship with God assures us that our human relationships also will be in divine order, and fulfillment is ours. By holding kindly, loving thoughts of everyone, every day is filled with joy!
Our spiritual thought for the day is: Today, I practice the Presence of God by praising and thanking Him for my every good. Thank you, dear God.
