Ephesians 5:2 “Walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us.”
The Scriptures stress the importance of cultivating love. We are told that God is Love and that the Law of Love is the fulfilling of all the laws and prophecies concerning us.
All love is a form of God-Love. Whenever we feel a unity with someone or something, we call it love. Nona Brooks defined love as “conscious unity.” The love of parents for their children, the love between husband and wife, brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors all are qualified states of the one great Love.
The pure and unadulterated Love of God is stronger than all of these. When we touch this Love at its source we find it is indeed a miracle-working power. It can be cultivated the same as any other desirable quality of being.
Thomas L. Masson in his book, Ascensions, says, “Prayer is no other thing but the application of the heart of God and the inward exercise of that love.”
Divine Love is definitely a spirit or attitude of “Outstreaming good will.” And its influence is felt in every phase of human experience.
Our spiritual thought for the day is: I now open myself to the pure and effective action of God-Love. It is at work in all my affairs, right now. Thank you, dear God.
