1 John 4:16 “God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”
Someone long ago said, “There is that which is, and that which seems to be.” To many, that which is is very apparent to the senses; problems and events of daily living seem very real. We know, however, that all these are but passing phases of human experience. In the light of the Eternal they are but that “which seems to be.”
That which is - that which is eternal is now. This thought is most satisfying when it dawns in our consciousness. It is only our concepts of the changeless, permanent, and perfect attributes of God that give to us a sense of certainty which we long for and must have. Only as we are certain do we develop that living faith that carries us through trials and problems. We must have faith in Something greater than we are or there is no satisfaction in living.
Faith in God’s changeless Realities gives us courage, strength, steadfastness, and the perseverance and will to do the right. Now I find that I dwell in the house, or consciousness, of my God, and “I shall go no more out.”
Our spiritual thought for the day: Love rules my thoughts today. Thank you, God.
