Titus 2:15 “These things speak … with all authority.”
These are great times for authority. We can’t drive our cars without an operator’s license. A couple can’t marry without a license. Officers of the law have their badges. A man from the Public Utilities Company must be able to prove his authority before entering homes. Authority means legal or rightful power.
Jesus came bringing us a message of divine authority. He proved that we all have authority from the Source that counts most. He showed us that our authority is due to our being children of God and citizens in heaven. As Nona Brooks used to say, “To live in harmony with the greater nature of God is to live with authority.”
Jesus was asked repeatedly by what authority he performed the works which men called miracles. He openly confessed that the power was not his but the Father’s. We are all children of God. We all have an inner authority because we can permit God’s power to express through us as peace, love, patience and understanding.
Our spiritual thought for the day: As God’s child, I possess power. I express Divine Power as I am loving, patient and understanding. Thank you, Father/Mother God.
