Matthew 6:32 "Your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things."
If our heavenly Father knows that we need things to live successfully and abundantly on earth, then why do we need to ask Him for anything?
We need to ask because the asking is our part of the creative chain. Of course God knows what we need, but until we know it, and unless we feel a desire for some particular good to fill that need, the way is not opened so that we can receive it. Spirit is always leading us into an awareness of the good already prepared for us. A desire for some particular good is often the first sign that it is coming into our life. Then we must consciously ask, that we may receive.
We must become alert, conscious, thankful receivers of God's good. We are not puppets pulled about by some outer power. We are children of God with the wonderful, terrible gift of choosing our way - of exercising our own free will in directing our destiny. We may follow God's way, or we may follow what Jesus called the "way of destruction."
Freedom to choose carries with it the responsibility of choice and obligation to live by our choices, but let's not refrain from choosing and asking so that God can bring that good into our lives.
Our spiritual thought for the day: Dear God, thank you for each dream of better things, each new desire. They are manifesting in Divine Order.
