Weekly Thoughts To Uplift And Inspire

James 1:8 “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

In Life’s small things be resolute and great

To keep thy muscles trained; know’st thou when fate

Thy measure takes?  Or when he’ll say to thee,

“I find thee worthy, do this thing for me!”

                                                                                                Emerson

Who is the double-minded man?  We are when we think first of our good and then feel that it will be withheld from us.  We are double-minded when we try to entertain thoughts of success and failure at the same time.  Of course, this is impossible!  But when we try it, we find that one thought negates the other and little, if anything positive happens.

Think success!  Think health!  Think right action!  Think prosperity!  Thinking does not make it so, but through disciplined thought we keep ourselves receptive to the essence of the good that we seek.  We think right and the scales fall from our eyes and we see the means to realize our good desires.

We must be consistent and persistent.  Life rewards us when we consistently identify ourselves with the good that we seek.  When we prepare ourselves for this good through disciplined thinking we find that, as Emerson said, “Life will say to us, ‘I find thee worthy, do this thing for me!’”

Our spiritual thought for the day is:  Today, I identify myself with health, prosperity and all that is good.  Thank you, Father-Mother God.
