Weekly Thoughts To Uplift And Inspire

“Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”
- Isaiah 65:24

The prime purpose of prayer is not to persuade God to help us but to accept the truth that He already has!  Great teachers have told us that a heartfelt desire for some good is an inward sign that this particular blessing is already on the way.  Our part is to be expectant and to give thanks even before it becomes visible.

An experienced parent usually knows what a child will need next, even before the child does.  Often the youngster can be gently steered in the direction of something desirable, or away from something he cannot yet handle.  If human parents can exercise such love and foresight, shall we expect less of our heavenly Father?  (See Mat. 7:11)

The “bread” of human life – the basics of food, clothing, shelter, and companionship – are provided without struggle or strain as we look toward our Source.  The butter and the jam – the pleasant extras – are also ours, as our expectation expands and our trust increases.

Our spiritual thought for the day:  Thank you Father for the prayer that is already answered.
